'Portals' by Jane O'Sullivan

The cat had discovered a portal to another world, tucked behind the neighbour’s shed. He kept bringing home strange things: jellyfish, gobbets, possibly an arm. She wrapped the bits in paper and put them in the bin. Some wars start as easily as that, with a sigh.
