Hope
by Aleen

Hope is a sparkling silver veil
it's scent like spring wet grass
it's the sweet tang of Spanish lime
the sound of the Mbira singing out to the ancestors

Hope appears as the crescent moon
and feels like rain drops exploding on the back of my hand

Hope  lives.
